Profile

Lauren Krishnamurti, PhD, is a CHERP COIN Investigator and Qualitative Methodologist. Dr. Krishnamurti is the Director of Outcomes, High Risk Veteran Initiative (RIVET) QUERI program. She has a background in Medical Anthropology and a focus on suicide prevention among vulnerable groups.

She completed a VA Advanced Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Women's Health at CHERP, mentored by Dr. Melissa Dichter, CHERP COIN Investigator. Dr. Krishnamurti has examined women Veterans' experiences in VHA suicide prevention, including use of the Veterans Crisis Line, to better understand how suicide prevention services are meeting the needs of women. In particular, Dr. Krishnamurti is interested in identifying opportunities for improving patient engagement with general mental health care relating to important concerns faced by women Veterans, such as military sexual trauma, that present as complex risk factors for suicide.

Dr. Krishnamurti received her PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and previously worked as a Data Analyst at UPMC following receiving her MA at Carnegie Mellon University.
