CHERP is one of 19 VA HSR&D Centers of Innovation. We are dedicated to advancing equitable health care for vulnerable populations. The purpose of this website is to communicate the endeavors and impact of the hard work and ingenuity of CHERP researchers, clinicians, staff, Veterans and organizational leaders.
Utibe R. Essien, MD, MPH is a health services researcher who conducts research on racial/ethnic health disparities who is frequently interviewed in major media regarding health disparities in COVID. His research focuses on the use of novel therapeutics and technologies in the management of chronic diseases and understanding mechanisms by which differences exist in their uptake and diffusion.
