This two-year program is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh and is designed for post-doctoral investigators and physicians who have research experience and interest in Veteran-focused research. The focus areas at this CHERP Fellowship site are health equity and the evaluation of effectiveness, safety and value of clinical therapeutics. Senior program faculty have broad expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodology (e.g., clinical trial development, QI, large database analysis, psychometrics, meta-analysis, and implementation science). Partnered with the VA Pharmacy Benefits Management Services (PBM), this two-year fellowship in Pittsburgh prepares doctoral level pharmacists to become (1) independent practitioners with expertise in medication safety and (2) independent investigators with expertise in pharcoepidemiology, outcomes research, and systematic quality improvment that contributes to quality, safety, effectiveness and value of medication therapy.
